Thoalfaqqar Ali Aljeafry

28-year-old dentist and a graduate of the University of Babylon. I have loved and been passionate about art since childhood, which gave me the opportunity to participate in many competitions and festivals held by the Babylon Directorate of Education during my primary and intermediate school years. I also took part in both private and public exhibitions during my university studies. I contributed to painting murals on public roads and bridges that expressed the symbolism of the October demonstrations, carried out through personal effort and with the participation of medical students. I also painted a large mural inside the College of Dentistry, located in the main hall of the lecture rooms, which I consider one of my most significant achievements. I am passionate about all forms of art, and I am deeply inspired by artists’ methods and styles in blending colors and movement. I am an admirer of the realist school in all its forms. On the local level, I have been influenced by many artists, most notably the world-renowned Iraqi artists Faeq Hassan and Jawad Salim, and on the global level by Michelangelo and the Italian artist Marco Grassi. I aspire to hold my first solo exhibition in the near future, and I also aim to establish an academy for teaching drawing and its various forms in a simple and flexible manner, in cooperation with civil society institutions and organizations.
